About

My life-changing experience as a patient of Dr. Dan Siegel’s inspired me to become a psychotherapist in my own right. I am now a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) with over twenty years of private practice experience, first in Los Angeles and now in Chapel Hill, NC. After studying Clinical Psychology at Antioch University Los Angeles, I interned at New Directions for Youth in Van Nuys, Ca., and The Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills, Ca. These experiences were integral to my development as a therapist, but I credit the deeply personal journey I took in therapy—working to heal the deep attachment wounds of my childhood and resolving the Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) I developed in response—as the foundation of my practice.

Informed by the fields of Interpersonal Neurobiology and Attachment Theory, I understand that it’s not just what happened to us in childhood that matters, but how we come to make sense of those experiences. Starting with the process of making sense in therapy, I’ve gone on to be trained and/or certified in EMDR, Attachment-Focused EMDR, The Adult Attachment Interview for Clinical Use, The Wheel of Awareness, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Unwinding Anxiety, and Mindfully Aware Practices (MAPs).

I live and work in Chapel Hill, NC where I love being surrounded by nature, enjoying hikes and walks with my dog Maverick, and writing (my memoir and blog). I’m also delighted that my son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter live close by.
